Penetration testing (PT), also known as penetration testing, is a non-destructive testing method for detecting surface opening defects of non-porous metal and non-metallic specimens based on the principle of capillary action. It belongs to non-destructive testing. One of the five conventional methods.
The principle is to use the capillary action of the liquid to infiltrate the penetrating liquid into the open defect on the surface of the solid material. Then through the developer, the infiltrated penetrant is precipitated to the surface to show the existence of defects.
